My computer has been really slow as of late. That’s my excuse. Which is why HU10 will be delayed… hopefully latest tomorrow night. Admittedly I should have started this page earlier. But I seriously thought I’d have enough time today. I can’t believe it takes me 5 minutes to open a new document!!!!!!

AND It took 10 minutes for me to tweet this news on twitter!!!

Hands Up Draft Pages

As per my friend, Dan’s request, here are some roughs of some of the pages. I figured 3′s a good number. Right?

Why all the colours? Because I CAN! 8-D

No seriously I usually do my sketches in different colours so I can draw over them in a darker colour or black. Like I do in real life! Hurrah coloured leads for mechanical pencils!

Am I being Bassetist?

I swear, I’m not obsessed with basset hounds. These are all just studies. STUDIES!!

– Or rather this one in particular is a work in progress for a more detailed portrait of a basset hound. Yes, reference is being used – I’m making use of the dog photos book mum gave me for my birthday.

Oh well.

Well, I tried to get it done tonight but I think my brain and right wrist is just demanding me to go to bed. Won’t be a long delay, might be published Friday afternoon, latest Saturday I think! If I am allowed excuses, I blame my recent holiday in Melbourne which has made my week a little shorter.

Here’s a preview… this is my process so it’s extra special. This is at rough sketch stage, I’ve laid out all the text and speech bubbles.

Sick Monster

So this was for conceptart.org’s daily sketch “Sick Monster” topic. It’s definitely not finished but I’m gonna leave it for today and come back later.

Been a while since I’ve tried to do a still illustration with a story. And yes, this is totally to make up for the old artwork repost earlier today.

Something a little different

OK… so it’s still a portrait. But this time I’m working with no reference (hence why anatomy is totally off) and it’s based on one of my beloved characters that I created in the past.

Note: This is still by far a work in progress. (Only started it an hour ago.)

Those who’ve known me for a while and have followed my work will know who it is. And it shall be revealed… when I finish the painting I guess.

For the weekend. I’m aiming to apply to a job that may be slightly out of my league… but I’m using it as an excuse to push myself.

OK. I couldn’t wait to get started on this until I got back. I needed my pretty boy painting fix. So now that I’ve started it… I can get back to what I’m supposed to be doing – which is designing characters for my friend’s project. (Sorry Cy! I’ll get to it now, I promise! >_<) Hopefully this will be on my mind all of next week so when I come back, I can’t wait to just hop on the box and finish it! I want to do at least a handful of the characters from this audio drama series.
